The house is very ordinary just like most of the house in town. After living in the house for more than 50 years, the owner decided that it is time to spend some hard earned money to upgrade the property. There wasn’t anything in the front yard other than the worn lawn and broken driveway. We change the appearance of the house by replacing the first floor siding with stone, added stone foot column to the steel support column and modified the shape of the stoop. We also add a stone wall and columns along the street. One of the column houses the mailbox with extended paver driveway in front of it. We also proposed a circular driveway and wide walkway to break the box appearance in addition to the mounded planting beds along the property line. The depth and diversity makes this front yard a dynamic living space.
Original plan of the back yard included a new deck, walkway, woodland walk and putting green. I received an E-mail from the owner in the end of the winter. He had all the trees cut except the ones by the corner of the property to give me a , as he called, blank canvas. I redesigned the putting green and bunker by carving into the slope and ties into a new retaining wall. It worked out great with the terrain. It is a very unique setting for a home putting green where the owner, an avid golfer, can enjoy everyday. Together with the beautiful plantings , a unique living paradise was created.
We don’t just landscape, we transform. Although cutting down all the trees wasn’t my preferred approach but, with creativity and diversity, we can always work with whatever the owner desire and deliver the ultimate results.
