Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" . In total it contains about 2,700 meters (8,860 ft) long, 600 m (1,970 ft) wide and 160 m (525 ft) high. It can be seen from the hills 20 km away. It is a shallow cave with waterfalls and interesting lime formations and green algae.
Pamukkale looks the best after the rain when the pools in the terrace are filled with water. Although the thermal water was warm, It was cold walking with bare feet in the winter especially far away from the spring outlet. We were there when the door just opened to avoid the crowd. It was cloudy with windows and thin cloud in the eastern mountains. It was a perfect settings for the pictures. We went to the Kaklck Cave afterward which is about 35 minutes away by car. The thunderstorm started right after we finish our visit. The rain stopped a little after 4 o’clock. I ran across the street to the red Pamukale to take some pictures. We took the taxi afterward to the white castle 15 minutes before the ticket office was closed. I want to see all the pools filled with water. It was foggy at that point. There were a lot people at the site. I am lucky to see the site with morning light at the far mountains before the crowd came. I also got to witness the pool with water in the misty dusk.
